Türkiye’s Kars hosts forum on "Return to Western Azerbaijan” Calls for unified homeland return

On July 3, the Turkish city of Kars hosted a significant forum, titled "Return to Western Azerbaijan," an event supported by the State Committee for Diaspora Work, the Kars Municipality, the Federation of Azerbaijani Associations of Türkiye (TADEF), and the Association of Caucasus Cultures Kars-Azerbaijan.

The forum saw the participation of representatives from political parties, urban intellectuals, and NGO delegates, demonstrating a wide spectrum of support and interest in the cause, the Western Azerbaijani Community told Caliber.Az.

Prominent figures who addressed the gathering included TADEF member and Chairman of the Kars Association Nabi Ariq; Acting Chairman of TADEF Parviz Mammadzada; First Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Diaspora Work Valeh Hajiyev; Azerbaijan's Consul General in Kars Nuru Guliyev; and Head of Kars Municipality Otiken Senger.

The forum's central focus was the critical issue of ensuring the right of return for Western Azerbaijanis to their ancestral homeland (current Armenia). This gathering not only reaffirmed the community's commitment to this cause but also emphasized the importance of keeping this issue at the forefront of political and public discourse. The discussions underscored the collective resolve to advocate for and facilitate the return of displaced Azerbaijanis, reflecting a unified call for justice and historical rectification.
